Your Seven Day Forecast

Roy E. Schepp

Now Max was a very special dog
gentle and so kind
it seemed he could see everything
yet his left eye was blind.

He loved to run and play outside
but was an inside pet
the more that one would hug him
the closer he would get.

For years he was a protector
companion and friend
yet for some unknown reason
all this came to an end.

I let him out to exercise
and he never did return
what happened to him we don't know
his fate I wish we would learn.

We pray that Max is still alive
though no one seems to know
yet we are certain if he is not
to dog heaven he did go!

Three adults; three dogs and one rooster
playing a game of tag
now this was not the normal group
but the excitement didn't lag.

A friend provided the three dogs
and the rooster is our neighbors pet
just as soon as they did spot him
the closer they wanted to get.

We tried to catch them many times
yet they were much too fast
the question that did come to mind
how long would the rooster last.

It took almost a half hour
before we did get control
yes and after the rooster felt safe
he began to crow.

For almost a day he found a new place
where he could safely hide
yet now again since all is well
he walks right by my side!

I know you're up in Heaven
right near your favorite star
yet each day I do wonder
if I'll ever get that far.

Now I try to be a Christian
but there are times I'm slack
yes and it sometimes takes a while
before I get it back.

I miss you more than e're before
each and every passing day
you used to be by my side
and now you are far away.

Since I was the youngest
I learned a trick or two
It was clearly best for me to ask
for things you let the others do.

There is a special day for mothers
and I place you at the top
you were there for me when needed
so you can trust my love won't stop.

Roy E.Schepp
She treats me just like a mother
Though for sure I’m not her son
Yet I appreciate the compassion
When each day is done.

Her faith in God is very strong
This no one can deny
I’ve known Bettie for many a year
And with His help anything she will try.

Bettie will always help others
And at church long hours has spent
She is a very gifted lady
So was welcomed where ever she went.

Now she was known as the Slovak Betty Crocker
And it wasn’t hard to know why
Yes you didn’t know what good was
Until you had her pumpkin pie.

Yes mom as I call her is special
I am grateful for her as a friend
Now there are times we might disagree
Yet in a short time that will end.

Now Bettie still keeps busy
And at doing puzzles she is great
I hope that she has a special birthday
For she will only be ninety-eight!

Many listen for the sleigh bells
that in a far off distance ring
yet others shout Hosanna's
for the new born Savior King.

Now Christmas day is celebrated
in many a varied way
for the Christian it's quite religious
but with no believers, just a holiday.

The Wise Men traveled to Bethlehem
just guided by a star
they were bearing gifts for the Baby Jesus
which all brought from afar.

Today most rely on Santa Claus
and his reindeer over head
the principal is much the same
but they're store bought gifts instead.

Yes the stores put out their welcome mat
two months before Christmas day
trying to help us fill our shopping list
in a most beneficial way.

We all help them with their efforts
for the needs are much abused
in the corner of room number three you'll find
some toys that haven't been used.

Just throw away the want list
and to all little children bring
clothes that will keep them warm
until the first breath of spring.

On Christmas Eve, fill up all the stockings
so all is ready for Christmas morn
yes while opening presents take time to remind
that today the Christ Child was born.

No need to get Excited
each time you turn a page
the new things that are happening
they simply call old age.

In time we all shall see it
of this there is no doubt
we can be sure that in our life
no one will be left out.

Now when and where it happens
to each of us will vary
yet when it does believe me
it will be rather scary.

I know of this for certain
for my time has finally come
now it didn't happen overnight
though for me much later than some.

Yes I was blessed with the delay
that gave me some time
I had no pain for many years
and a lot of hills did climb.

Roy E. Schepp

I'm not sure of how many years
but I know it was quite a few
I waited to go home again
to see friends and family too.

Now if it wasn't for a friend of mine
I'd still be on the waiting list
yes if he didn't volunteer to drive
then the trip I would have missed.

You can look around all you like
and you will never find
a friend to be more helpful
one that is so kind.

It was nearly a thousand miles
and that is just one way
yet I got to visit several
in what was a short stay.

Now he took the G. P. S. route
which many like a lot
yet you will find there are times
the best one it is not.

Coming back they sent us on a road
seemingly with no doubt
yet and after twenty miles you could read the sign
ahead the bridge is out.

Yet safe and sound we made the trip
thanks to the lord above
I am most grateful to my friend
for taking me to those I love.

The U. S. A. has many problems
and it concerns more than a few
yet the leaders we put in office
have no idea what to do.

They waste good time on politics
for that is what they know
still the reasons many are suffering
those problems they let go.

It should be clear to all of them
that most prices are too high
many families can’t afford their food
and would like to know why.

Our government should know why by now
a change must soon be made
the citizens can’t afford these cost
for their bills must still be paid.

We hope our elected officials
will very soon take action
yes it is time to put politics aside
and give the citizens some satisfaction!

                    Roy E. Schepp
I took a trip down memory lane
Just the other day
Yes; and it didn’t take long to realize
I go back quite a long way.

Now things have changed so very much
Through the many years gone by
Yet much of it wasn’t needed
Though to convince us they will try.

Yes memories will stay with us
The good and bad the same
Still there are those that think all stops
When you change a rule or name.

The cost for this is expensive
And the public should take heed
All that we spend for the likes of this
Could be used for those in need.

We must convince our leaders
How wrong that they can be
Yet will any acknowledge this
We’ll have to wait and see!

Roy E. Schepp
If you ever met my father
Surprised I know you’d be
Yes he thinks that there’s no other
That’s half as good as me.

Well my brother makes his “A” list too
Which many can often see
Still I’m his special daughter
Just as precious as can be.

Now both little league and soccer
Are games my brother and I play
Yet Mom most often must take us
For daddy’s at work or away.

I tell Father just what happened
And come close to the final score
Still when I mention of how well I played
I might add a little more.

There’s no doubt our daddy loves us
And you can see it in his eyes
Yet there are times we don’t get what we want
But I do know daddy tries.

We thank the Lord for our daddy
So special to my brother and me
Yes and we pray for the many children
That have no father to see!

It's a day set aside for remembering
those who before and after have went
fighting for the need of our country
wherever they might be sent.

Men and women, young and old
it mattered not you see
a highly trained military
trying to keep us free.

They have fought in strange surroundings
and many lives have been lost
now some were only wounded
but for us, still paid the cost.

One can't feel the pain or anguish
these brave men and women all went through
yet we can honor them for what they did
for the freedom of me and you,

We can hold in our hearts the memories
of the thousands that have died
yes and we pray for the many wounded
who lost comrades by their side.

Now war is never over
and a battle never won
the loss of lives will ere remain
long after the fighting's done!
